MEDIA PASSES:    Arrangements for media passes, both in advance and during the tournament, including print, radio, VCR, photo and TV, should be made with Jim Stringer, Tournament Information/News Media Chairman.    Media passes may be picked up after 1:00pm on the Monday, March 16, at the Tournament Information Center in the Sports Arena and anytime during the tournament.

TOURNAMENT PRESS ROOM:    A Press Room is located in the southeast corner of the second floor of the Sports Arena.    Voice telephone transmission and data transmission lines will be provided.    Long distance charges are at the sender's expense.

USE OF PRESS TABLE:    The press table on the Arena floor is for working press only.    Only those persons assigned by the Tournament Information/Media Chairman are allowed at the table.    Except for the last game of the day, seats at the press table shall be vacated no later than ten (10) minutes following the completion of each game to allow for the new seat assignments.    Photographers may not take pictures from the press table.    Downloading and transmitting pictures and recharging cameras are not allowed at the press table.    The Press Room is the designated area at the Sports Arena for locating power strips for recharging cameras and transmitting photographs.    Your cooperation is appreciated.

PRINT NEWS MEDIA:   Each newspaper is entitled to one working press pass.     If a college has a team in the tournament, the college newspaper shall be entitled to one working press pass.    Proper identification is required before a working member newspaper is issued a press pass.   Press table seats will be assigned daily by the Tournament Information/Media Chairman and posted in the Tournament Information Center at the Sports Arena.   Call the Tournament Information Center at 620-663-2511 starting the Sunday, March 15.   See Radio or TV Broadcasting/Tape Delayed Broadcasting below for broadcast media information.

RADIO:   KWBW of Hutchinson, Kansas, is the official radio station for the NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament and will broadcast all games.    No other radio station within a fifty (50) mile radius of Hutchinson may broadcast any games.     Stations taking a feed from KWBW will be charged a fee of $150.00 per game.     Stations broadcasting with their own crews will be charged a fee of $200.00 per game.   To make arrangements or to obtain addtional information regarding feeds or stations sending their own crews, contact Jerry Kershaw at (405) 447-6031.   Arrangements to broadcast must be made at least twelve (12) hours prior to the start of any game.

VIDEOTAPING:    Legleiter Video Productions is the official videotaping company for The Tournament and will professionally videotaping all games.    These videos will be shot from the same angle as games you see on televsion, and will include KWBW's play-by-play.     Each head coach may purchase one VHS tape 15 minutes after the game for a fee of $75.00 per game.    During tournament week no tapes will be sold to anyone other than the head coach of a team participating in the game shown on the video.    No videotapes are available without advance arrangements.

During The Tournament you can contact Legleiter at its location in the west lobby of the Sports Arena.    Arrangements must be made at least one hour prior to the start of any game.

Colleges may also videotape only those games in which the college participates and only in the areas designated by the Tournament Director.    A fee of $25 per game shall be paid in advance, and no video work shall be done without prior arrangements and payment.    These arrangements must be made with the Tournament Information/Media Chairman in the Sports Arena Tournament Information Center.    Each person videotaping a game must have the receipt for payment of the fee on his or her person for display to tournament officials.    Failure to present the payment receipt may result in denail of access to or removal from the videotaping area.

No equipment or tapes will be furnished by either the NJCAA, The American Legion, or Legleiter Video Productions.

PHOTOGRAPHERS:    Each newspaper and college newspaper, if the college has a team in The Tournament is entitled to one (1) working photographer pass.    Upon presentation of proper identification, a photographer's pass will be issued by the News Tournament Information/Media Chairman.    Photographers may take pictures or videos from the Arena playing floor only when wearing a photographers arem band.     These arm bands are issued at the Tournament Director's desk for each session and are to be returned at the end of each session.    Arm bands will be available to school photographers for those games in which the school has a participating team.     Flash and strobe lights shall be used in a manner and at times which do not interfere with the play of the game.    Photograhers should familiarize themselves with use of press table restrictions provided elsewhere in this bulletin.

COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHERS:    Commercial photographers taking still shots of the game action and offering them for sale shall make advanced arrangements with the Tournament Information/Media Chairman and pay a fee of $25 for the right to do so.

TV NEWS:    Each television station with proper media credentials will be allowed a camera on the Arena playing floor.

TV BROADCASTING/TAPE DELAY BROADCASTING:    All television broadcasting and/or tape delay broadcasting arrangements must be made by contacting Wayne Baker, NJCAA, Executive Director, PO Box 7305, Colorado Springs, CO 80933-7305, Phone #'s 719-590-9788 or 9789.    Tape delay broadcasts are possible in conjunction with Legleiter Video Productions, the official videotaping company of the NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament.    NO TV BROADCASTING OR TAPE DELAY BROADCASTING IS ALLOWED WITHOUT ADVANCE CONTRACT SIGNING.
